Challenges

Managing a large number of attendees and controlling event access is always a significant challenge for major events, and also MMA Innovate 2024. The event brought together thousands of participants, including representatives from leading brands, startups, exhibitors, and keynote speakers.

In the second time holding in Vietnam, MMA Innovate 2024 not only “innovated” with more exceptional activities compared to the previous year but also leveraged advanced technologies to enhance the attendee experience. From ticket management and check-in processes to interactive activities that fostered connections among guests. Discover how MMA Innovate 2024 encouraged attendees to actively engage with on-site experiences, leaving them with a lasting impression of the event and a stronger connection to the MMA Vietnam community.

Solution

MMA Innovate 2024 partnered with The Master Channel to implement the “Event Ticket Management and Check-in Tool” campaign, integrating QR code scanning technology with a “Points Redemption” program at booths.

Enhancing the Experience with QR Code Check-in

After registering for MMA Innovate 2024 via the event website, attendees received a confirmation message on Zalo with a link to access their ticket containing a QR code for check-in.

With the QR code readily available in their Zalo messages, attendees could check in quickly without waiting in long lines for paper ticket verification or manual attendee checks. The Master Channel’s automated check-in system streamlined the process, ensuring maximum convenience for both the MMA Innovate 2024 organizers and attendees.

To obtain the QR code for event check-in, participants clicked the link in their Zalo message and filled out a form where their name and phone number were auto-filled by the platform. Additionally, attendees were required to follow MMA Vietnam’s Zalo Official Account (OA). This approach enabled the event organizers to easily send Zalo UID messages with announcements about upcoming events, membership offers, and renewal benefits in the future. Compared to SMS, Zalo messages provided a more cost-effective and visually engaging solution, creating an enjoyable interaction experience and fostering a long-term relationship with this customer base.

Enhancing Engagement with the Points Redemption Program

In addition to participating in discussions and exploring new technology platforms, attendees had the opportunity to engage more deeply with brands through QR codes displayed at each booth during MMA Innovate 2024.

After scanning QR code, attendees were directed to a Zalo Mini App to join the points redemption program. They filled out their information, followed the Official Account (OA), and received exciting rewards. All actions were completed seamlessly on a single platform, delivering a smooth and enjoyable interactive experience, with participants receiving their rewards instantly.

The QR code scanning process not only enhanced the on-site experience for attendees, but it also laid the groundwork for building a follower community on Zalo OA. This created ongoing engagement opportunities for MMA Innovate 2024 and MMA Vietnam.

With support from The Master Channel, MMA Vietnam could design automated post-event interaction scenarios to strengthen connections with this audience:

  • Sending surveys to better understand attendees’ interests and evaluate the event’s success.
  • Sharing information about member benefits and privileges to maintain relationships with participants.
  • Sending invitations to upcoming events, and more.

Results

Through collaboration with The Master Channel, combined with the dedicated efforts and commitment of the MMA Vietnam team, the campaign achieved remarkable outcomes:

  • Attracted over 1,300 new followers to MMA Vietnam’s Zalo channel, paving the way for re-engagement with this audience in future programs.
  • Dynamic interactions with brand booths at the event resulted in over 5,270 points earned and redeemed, driving a prize redemption rate of 82.8%.

Solution with The Master Channel not only helped MMA Innovate 2024 strengthen connections with attendees during the event but also laid the foundation for building a dedicated community. This will foster sustainable engagement and long-term growth for the organization.
